Darren Smorgon is the Managing Director of Sandbar Investments, a private investment company. He was previously a Director of CHAMP Private Equity, one of Australia’s largest and longest established Private Equity firms, where he spent 16 years.
At CHAMP he led the acquisition and portfolio management of companies including Study Group, LCR Group, Golding Contractors and oOh!media. In conjunction to the Board of Swift Media, Darren is also currently a Non-Executive Director at oOh!media, the Chairman of Hub Australia and a Non-Executive Director of Total Drain Cleaning. He is also on the advisory committee of the Social Ventures Australia social impact fund.
Robert is the founder of Swift Media and Wizzie TV. Robert has an engineering background in instrumentation and worked in the mining and oil and gas industries for 20 years before becoming an entrepreneur in 1995. Initially concentrating in the two-way radio rental business, Robert soon expanded the business to include sales and engineering services and created ASTIB Group, consisting of various radio and communications subsidiaries. Most of the ASTIB Group was divested in January 2011 for approximately $50 million to CSE Global, a multinational organisation of the Singapore Exchange.
Kathy Ostin has deep experience in the Aged Care and Healthcare sectors having established and led KPMG’s New South Wales Health, Ageing and Human Services Practice since 2006 until her departure from KPMG in December 2017. Kathy was also an Audit Partner at KPMG since 2005 where her responsibilities covered a number of Media, Advertising and Technology companies.
Kathy is currently a non-executive director of eftpos Payments Australia, where she is Chair of the Finance & Financial Audit Committee, Chair of the Risk and Internal Audit Committee and a member of the Pricing and Rebates committee.
As the Head of Finance for Swift Media, Ryan Sofoulis has spent the last 12 years working within the various companies owned by the Sofoulis family. Ryan worked in the accounts department with the ASTIB Group until it was sold in 2011, at which time he became the Company Secretary of Swift Media. In 2012, Ryan became the Company Secretary of the newly created EITS Global Group and oversaw the establishment of an international structure spanning over the US, UK, Ireland and Australia.
